1982 | Le Disques Du Crepuscule # TWI 158 | Belgian L.P.
Hot Club of Christ
Quirky instrumental recorded very spontaneously in Brussels
for compilation album called "Ghosts of Christmas Past". As
the story goes, Michel Duval, who ran Les Disques Du Crepescule
asked Aztec Camera to come up with something for the label's
forthcoming Christmas album. The title of the song is a play on
"The Hot Club of France", Django Reinhardt's legendary outfit,
whom the boys were trying to emulate.

1998 | Epic Records # ESCA 7347 | Japanese CD
Reason for Living
Winter Haven High
Rainy Greys and Blues
* Bigger Brighter Better (acoustic version)
The Sea is Wide
* The source of this recording is not listed on the sleeve. Independiente
released a Roddy Frame video press kit at one point which included an
interview and several acoustic versions of North Star tracks. This is
probably where the acoustic version of this song originated.
This Japanese import uses both sleeves from the "Reason for Living" cd
singles (on front and back), however they only included three of the
four original b-sides. The missing b-side, "Biba Nova", is included on
the Japanese CD release of The North Star.

Bigger Brighter Better
|
|
|
1998 | Independiente | U.K. promo CD
Bigger Brighter Better
Based on the fact that Independiente pressed this as a promo,
one would guess that they kicked around the idea of releasing it
as a single. I guess we'll never know for sure.

|
unreleased (1999) | Independiente # ISOM23SMS | CD single
Sister Shadow
The Thoughtless Kind
* Reason for Living (live)
* Recorded for VH-1 Talk Session on September 10, 1998
** Recorded for the Mark Goodier Show on Radio 1, August 11, 1998
Roddy and Independiente went their separate ways before these
two cd singles were ever released. For that reason, they're
extremely hard-to-find, but every so often you may see a copy
up for auction on eBay.
